Greg Gumbel will replace James Brown as host when “Inside the NFL” returns to Showtime and moves to Tuesday nights beginning Sept. 2.
Former NFL safety Ed Reed, current Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall and current CBS studio analyst Boomer Esiason will join Phil Simms as analysts, according to the network. Cris Collinsworth, lead game analyst for NBC, chose not to return to the show.
This is the seventh year of the show on Showtime after 31 years on HBO.
The show will air at 9 p.m. Tuesdays on Showtime through Feb. 4, 2015. NFL Network will re-air the show at 9 p.m. Wednesdays.
