After Greater Media elected to drop the sports format in Detroit this past summer, prior to the company selling to Beasley Broadcasting, morning host Sean Baligian was left on the outside looking in. But fortunately for the longtime Michigan sports talk personality that stay on the sidelines will be short lived.
Tony Paul of the Detroit News reported, and it was later confirmed on Facebook by Baligian himself, that WJR 760-AM is adding the talented sports talk show host to its roster. As part of his new role, Baligian will host the Detroit Lions pre-game and post-game shows. WJR added the Lions play by play rights after the team and former broadcast partner 97.1 The Ticket chose to part ways.
“Pregame and postgame and whatever the heck else they want me to do,” Baligian said. “I’m happy about it.”
As part of his new role, Baligian will join forces with on-air host Steve Courtney.
