KLAC has raised $1.5 million over the last 11 years with its Help-A-Hero Veterans Radiothon. The latest edition of the event will hit the air on Wednesday.
While iHeart Los Angeles’s sports radio hosts are asking for donations to Dream Center LA on air, Dodgers star Justin Turner and his wife Kourtney will be answering phones to take donations. There will also be a number of auction items and prizes listeners can win by donating. Those include a ride in the Goodyear Blimp and a behind the scenes visit to The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
There are an estimated 11,000 homeless veterans in Los Angeles. Dream Center LA runs a transitional housing program with the goal of keeping veterans, struggling to make the mental and emotional transition to civilian life, from a life of homelessness.
