The Broadcast Company of the Americas is experiencing layoffs as management continues negotiations with the owners of the Mexican station licenses that it leases. Mike Shepard is one of the victims of those layoffs. He had been overseeing all three of the company’s stations, including sports outlets The Mighty 1090 and ESPN 1700, as the VP of programming and operations.
All Access is reporting that Shepard is one of eight staffers let go. The Mighty 1090 remains on the air. ESPN 1700 and BCA’s classic hits station 105.7 MAX FM have been replaced with temporary programming by the license owners.
