Baltimore Orioles Announce New Radio Team

The Baltimore Orioles announced their radio broadcast team for 2019, featuring familiar voice and play-by-play announcer Jim Hunter.  For Orioles fans, Joe Angel’s voice became synonymous with the O’s baseball, but for the first time in nearly two decades the veteran broadcaster won’t be in the booth after recently retiring.

A 23-year play-by-play voice of the Baltimore Orioles, Hunter has bounced back and forth between radio and TV coverage of the team.  For the last two seasons, Hunter was Angel’s full-time partner on the Orioles Radio Network, following the retirement of Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Fred Manfra.

Hunter will be joined by a rotating cast of former Orioles including, Mike Bordick, Ben McDonald, Brian Roberts, Dave Johnson and Gregg Olson as radio analysts.

The most notable addition to the O’s Radio Network is play-by-play voice Kevin Brown who will join the broadcast for 50 games this season following Angel’s departure.  Brown currently calls high school football, college football, basketball and hockey for ESPN, having also spent seven seasons as the play-by-play voice of the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs.
