According to Front Office Sports FS1 and Shannon Sharpe are keen to stay in business together. The Undisputed co-host will see his contract expire in July.
Michael McCarthy writes that while both sides want to get a deal done, Sharpe will be seeking a raise. He cites sources saying that Sharpe makes a little more than half of the $5.5 million his partner Skip Bayless is paid annually by FS1.
FS1 declined to comment for McCarthy’s story, but he did cite an unnamed TV executive that said while Sharpe was brought in “to be a foil for Skip,” the former tight end “raised his national profile.”
Undisputed still trails Bayless’s former show First Take in the ratings in a significant. The ESPN show averaged more than 150% the audience size of Undisputed last month, but Undisputed’s ratings have seen year-over-year growth in 2019.
