CJ Brown Joins Maryland Terrapins Radio Team

For the second straight year, the Maryland Terrapins football radio booth is making a change to their broadcast team with former Maryland quarterback, CJ Brown being added as a color analyst.

“It’s always kind of been in the back of my mind, something that I never really pursued,” Brown told Glenn Clark Radio, a daily online Baltimore sports radio show, regarding his new broadcasting venture. “When the opportunity came up, I jumped on it, talked with Johnny about it, Coach Locks about it and made the decision to move forward.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to take on this new journey and be along for the ride calling the games for the Terps on the radio,” Brown added.

Brown was a member of Maryland football from 2009 – 14, passing for 33 touchdowns and running for another 25 in the 35 games he played.  The former quarterback joins a radio booth that includes analyst LaMont Jordan and play-by-play voice Johnny Holliday, who will begin his 41st season as a broadcaster for the Terps.  Last year, was Jordan’s first season as a Maryland radio analyst, replacing Holliday’s longtime partner in the booth, Tim Strachan who left the broadcast after 22 years.

“I couldn’t be happier to be back with the Terp Football program and contributing on gamedays this year,” Brown said in a press release. “I’m really looking forward to working alongside the Hall of Famer, Johnny Holliday, and learning from one of the best in the business! I’m also excited about having Coach Locks on the sidelines again leading the Terp Football Family. I personally know what he brings to this program not only as a coach, but a mentor and friend to so many young men. He is truly the right man for the job and I am looking forward to watching what he does with the team this year.”

Brown will partner with Holliday on the call for every game of the Terps 2019 season, with Jordan being added to the booth for each home contest.  The Maryland Terrapins open their football season on August 31st, with a home game against Howard University.
