Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is no stranger to sports fans anywhere, but he is particularly familiar to listeners of 105.3 the Fan in Dallas. Jones makes weekly appearances on the station’s mid day show. While Jones has never been afraid to answer whatever questions are thrown at him, Friday’s visit with the K&C Masterpiece got off to a particularly rocky start.
The interview began with Kevin Hageland asking if the organization was embarrassed by the loss in Chicago on Thursday night.
“Hey, get your damn act together yourself,” Jones fired back. “Now we’re gonna have a good visit this morning, but settle down just a little bit. We’ve got a lot to go over, so go on with your question, but I’m gonna give you the answers I wanna give you this morning, and I don’t like your attitude to come in. I’ve been traveling all night, and I don’t have the patience to jack with you today.”
Jones did not hang up on the show, although at one point it may have sounded like he did. Listeners heard what sounded like an abrupt cutoff after Jones asked the hosts “Do you understand bullshit?”. The profanity slipped through.
According to a tweet from Jane Slater, 105.3 the Fan program director Gavin Spittle says that the blip was the result of Jones saying a second curse word that the audience didn’t hear.
The Fan has posted a recap of the interview on its website. The station’s write-up references the profanity but didn’t make audio available.
Football analyst Warren Sharpe posted an edited version of the interview on his Twitter page. In it you can hear the interview’s testy start and Jones’s “bullshit” line.
