A Philly sports talk staple is returning to the airwaves this weekend. Jason Myrtetus announced he’ll be hosting a Saturday show for 97.5 The Fanatic from noon – 3pm.
A former producer, weekday host and assistant program director for The Fanatic, Myrtetus was laid off by Beasley Media last October after more than seven years with the station. Myrtetus’ return, even in a part-time capacity, signals there isn’t much remaining antipathy over his exit six months ago. Since being laid off, Myrtetus was again heard on The Fanatic as a guest with his former co-host Anthony Gargano.
One month after the radio host was laid off by The Fanatic, the station’s program director Eric Johnson was also let go. Recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges for Beasley, like all media companies, leading to more layoffs including former Fanatic morning co-host Tra Thomas.
