His return didn’t come with any fanfare, but Woj is definitely back in business. ESPN’s NBA Insider returned from suspension in the most appropriate way possible, by breaking news on Twitter.
Adrian Wojnarowski was suspended by ESPN earlier this month for replying to Senator Josh Hawley’s email with a two word sentence – “F*** you.” Hawley sent an email to Woj and ESPN brass demanding they question NBA officials about the league’s relationship with China. Hawley then posted the email he received from Woj in response.
If Woj is not already on his way down to Orlando, he likely will be soon. ESPN won’t miss the chance to have its most connected insider report from inside the NBA’s Walt Disney World bubble.
In a statement of apology tweeted out shortly after Hawley tweeted their email exchange, Wojnarowski said he would be reaching out directly to Hawley to apologize. Hawley said he didn’t want an apology. Instead he insisted ESPN reporters ask NBA Commissioner Adam Silver about the league’s relationship with China. It has not been reported whether Woj and Hawley actually spoke or not. Hawley had not commented on Woj’s apparent reinstatement at the time of this article.
