Joe Flint of The Wall Street Journal reports that FOX Sports has seen significant layoffs. More than 50 people are out of work as the company tries to cut costs and reorganize.
Flint does not have a full report at WSJ.com. Most of the cuts are believed to have happened Thursday afternoon and involve folks behind the scenes. Details have been scarce, but Jason Stewart and Tami Goldsmith have both been impacted by the cuts.
FOX has issued a statement. Flint tweeted it out on Friday afternoon.
Barrett Sports Media will relay any additional details that become available.
