Conservative talk show host Charlie Kirk said his Twitter account was locked after he questioned mail-in balloting. Kirk shared the news Sunday with Fox News’ The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton. “I’m kind of in a hostage situation with Twitter. I don’t have access to my Twitter because I tweeted a widely reported story.”
Kirk hosts The Charlie Kirk Show which is syndicated on the Salem Radio Network. He is the second host there to have his Twitter account locked in less than a week. Sebastian Gorka also had his account frozen when he shared the New York Post story about Hunter Biden. Both Twitter and Facebook have been silencing accounts that refer to that story.
“These latest attempts to muzzle SRN hosts “have our call-in lines ringing so hard they’re practically levitating,” Tom Tradup, V.P./News & Talk Programming for SRN. Republican lawmakers have requested the heads of Twitter and Facebook to appear before the U.S. Senate considering the current events.
“Things are constantly changing in the news cycle,” Kirk said. “Why should Twitter have the power to silence my entire 1.8-million-person audience just because a news story changes and I tweeted something that was absolutely and completely widely reported at the time?”
