KDKA-AM news anchor Rose Ryan-Douglas is calling it quits after nearly 50 years in the broadcast business.
“Rose has been the ultimate news professional, not only will we miss her on the air but her calming influence in the newsroom is irreplaceable,” Michael Spacciapolli, senior vice president and market manager for station owner Entercom Pittsburgh,
Ryan-Douglas started at KDKA-AM in 2002. Her retirement elicited farewell messages on Twitter from listeners who thanked her for being part of their lives.
Ryan-Douglas has been at the station since 2002, and has worked for WFFM, 96 KX and 3WS, where she spent more than 20 years.
“On behalf of all of us at KDKA Radio and our listeners we thank her for the tremendous work she has done over the years,” the station said.
Rose’s last day on the air will be Feb. 26.
