CNN will have a new addition to their commentator lineup as former Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) is joining the network.
“Very excited to be joining the @CNN team as a political commentator,” Jones tweeted. “Tune in this afternoon at 4ET for my ‘official’ debut on @TheLeadCNN with @jaketapper.”

Jones’ opponent in that race Republican Roy Moore and despite it taking place in a deep-red state, Jones overcame that obstacle after sexual assault allegations came out against Moore. This year, Jones called for President Biden’s Justice Department to investigate those who spoke at the pro-Trump rally, which led to the riots at the Capitol on Jan. 6. The former Alabama senator argued some of the speakers’ words incited the crowd to riot.
