Last month, Miami Marlins majority owner Bruce Sherman revealed his expectations for the organization’s next television agreement to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. Sherman expected to see a significant uptick in annual revenue.
Now it seems those expectations weren’t smoke and mirrors as MLB Network contributor Craig Mish reports that the Marlins have agreed to a multi-year agreement with Bally Sports to broadcast Miami Marlins games. The new television deal more than doubles their financial figures from their last contract.
The Marlins’ goal heading into these broadcasting negotiations was to have an agreement that would improve their financial revenue, and it seems as though they accomplished this task.
When it comes to the contract’s term, Mish doesn’t include the exact length of the agreement but states that the deal is more than five years.
Mish also adds that with the Marlins possibly being the lone baseball team in Florida with the Tampa Bay Rays’ uncertainty, he assumes that Marlins’ media rights’ value will rise.

been fan of marlins sent 1993. dont think Marlins possibly being the lone baseball team in Florida.
Tampa Bay Rays’ will always do better in TV DEAL than marlins. because they play in a.l. east with BOSTON and YANKS.
MLB be wise to not move them out of FLORIDA. If they want to expand . Best is move Rays to new place in FLORIDA. As a fan of both. marlins come first . But need to lose jeter
