Attorneys for Fox News Tuesday filed their response in the defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, claiming the network was doing its “due dillegence” in reporting various voter fraud claims by President Trump, his legal team and others.
Dominion is seeking $1.6 billion from Fox because of statements made by guests such as Sydney Powell and Rudy Guiliani plus show hosts Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo.
Fox argues the network was “covering both sides of this vigorous election dispute” in its filing.
The lawsuit is one of two Fox News is fighting. The other was filed by Smartmatic Corp., in February. The election systems company is seeking $2.7 billion, while Fox has requested dismissal of that case.
