CBS News Radio podcast My Life of Crime was awarded as the Best Podcast in the 2021 Digiday Media Awards, said Craig Swagler VP and General Manager of CBS News Radio.
“I am so proud of this outstanding team to create such compelling and captivating storytelling,” Swagler said on Facebook.
The podcast is hosted by correspondent Erin Moriarty and takes listeners behind the scene of crimes, behind prison walls, and in season two, as far as South America.
Moriarty is a nine-time Emmy award-winning journalist. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation.
My Life of Crime is created in partnership with CBS News Radio and the team at 48 Hours, America’s # 1 Saturday night true-crime destination. Jonathan Clark is the executive producer.
Digiday Media Award judges called Moriarty’s reporting a fresh take that “resonated with listeners by emphasizing the voices of the people involved, creating room for empathy, understanding and nuance beyond sensational headlines.”
