Nationally syndicated radio host Jim Bohannon will be enshrined into the Missouri Broadcasters Hall of Fame next month. His induction is part of the 2020 class which did not take place last year due to the pandemic.
The National Radio Hall of Famer has been voted one of the most important talk radio hosts by Talkers. In 2013, the website awarded him the Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 2017, Bohannon was awarded the New York International Radio Festival Gold Medal for Best Radio Documentary for “Pain & Pride: Remembering Vietnam-50 Years Later,” which he wrote and narrated.
Bohannon’s career began in 1960 in Lebanon, Missouri at KLWT. After being discharged from the U.S. Army in 1970, he went to work in Washington D.C. at WTOP-AM, WWRC-AM, and WGAY-FM. Ten years later he broke into the Chicago market.
The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on August 7 at the Branson Hilton Convention Center in Branson, Missouri.
