The finalists for the radio industry’s most prestigious awards, the Marconi Radio Awards, were announced Wednesday.
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) annually honors top stations and personalities. This year’s reception will be held in Las Vegas at the 2021 Radio Show, the winners will be announced on October 13.
Among the notable big market properties featured in the nominations are Atlanta’s 95.5 WSB, which is in contention for “Legendary Station of The Year.” Philadelphia’s iconic KYW Newsradio and New York’s 1010 WINS are both nominated for “Major Market Station of The Year.”
The award show will also highlight the “Legendary Manager of The Year.” Joel Oxley, Senior Vice President and General Manager of WTOP in Washington D.C. is nominated in the category along with 1010 WINS Director of News & Programming, Ben Mevorach.
Legendary late-night host George Noory of Premiere Networks is up for “Syndicated Personality of The Year” and Dan Mandis in Nashville, Tennessee with SuperTalk 99.7 WWTN is in the running for “Large Market Personality of The Year.”
Clay Travis, who transitioned from the sports format to co-host the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show on more than 400 Premiere Network affiliate stations, is nominated for “Best Radio Podcast of The Year” for his work on Outkick the Coverage with Clay Travis.
