Bill Michaels Pulled From Big 920 In Non-Compete Dispute

Just as quickly as he was back on in Milwaukee, Bill Michales is again gone from the Cream City airwaves.

Two days ago, The Big 920 added Michaels’ new show, which originates from 1670 & 96.7 the Zone in Madison. It is also heard on stations in La Crosse and Eau Claire. On Monday and Tuesday, it aired in Milwaukee. By Wednesday, it was gone and The Big 920 was back to carrying Colin Cowherd in the mid day.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal, iHeartMedia, which owns The Big 920, received a cease and desist letter from Audacy, which employed Michaels from 2011 until eight months ago.

Michaels told the paper that The Big 920 will not carry his show “for the time being”.

“What [Audacy is] claiming is that no station in Milwaukee can carry me.”

There are plenty of Bill Michaels fans in Milwaukee. Between his time at Audacy’s 1250 The Fan and WTMJ, he was on the air in the city for over 20 years.

For now, those fans can find Michaels online. His show streams on 1670 & 96.7 the Zone and on his YouTube and Facebook pages.
