According to the Buffalo News, WBEN’s Tom Bauerle returned to the airwaves Tuesday following a weeks-long battle with COVID-19.
Bauerle said he was fully vaccinated when he caught the virus but wondered how sick he would have been had he not been vaccinated.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention categorizes cases where fully vaccinated people catch the virus as “breakthrough cases.” The U.S. government said those types of cases are on the rise thanks to the delta variant.
“I’ll never know if the symptoms were mild because I got the shot,” he said. “I’ll never know that.”
Bauerle hosts the 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. show but recently took some time off while working as an extra on the set of the film Cabrini. He said he was tested daily while on the set of the film.
During a recent show Bauerle said “At no point did I feel like my life was in danger.”
