Britta Merwin: Fox Weather Will Address Climate Change

Fox News is officially in the weather business as the network’s Fox Weather launched Monday. Meteorologist Britta Merwin spoke to TheWrap, where she discussed various topics, including that they’ll be covering climate change.

“Yes, of course, we’re going to address it,” Merwin said. “Climate change is part of our world, and it’s part of how weather impacts you every day.

“Our goal at Fox Weather is to prepare you with the forecast and help you live with the weather, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do: We’re going to cover every type of weather pattern and how it’s going to impact you in your daily life.”

Merwin arrives at Fox Weather after a stint at NBC affiliate KPRC-TV in Houston and states that the streaming platform hopes to help Americans across every region prepare for the weather ahead while discovering more about it and the climate overall.

“We’ll be touching on weather across America,” Merwin said. “You’ll hear us cover these stories and bring you the news element of what’s happening — environmentally and weather-wise — and then, of course, you’ll see actual forecasts as well.”

Finally, the Fox Weather meteorologist stated that the platform hired “people from every different kind of background and every different part of the U.S.”

Merwin details that they want to make sure their local weather stories are reported accurately by those who know them and their impact on those who live in the region.
