More Than 11 Million Watch World Series Game 1

So much for any worries about what the absence of the Los Angeles Dodgers could do to the World Series ratings. FOX released the viewership numbers for Game 1 and the news is very good. Across the network, FOX Deportes, and streaming platorms, more than 11 million people tuned in to see the Braves capture game 1 in Houston.

More than 273,000 people streamed the game. That is the most ever for Game 1 of any World Series.

The return to a normal season definitely helped drive interest. So did the nationwide nature of the Atlanta Braves’ fanbase. The audience was up 17% of last year’s Game 1 between the Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays.

The game averaged an audience of over 11 million. The peak came between 9:30 and 9:45. During that window, over 12.7 million people were watching the World Series.
