Cleveland lost an iconic figure Thursday when WTAM host Mike Trivisonno passed away unexpectedly. He was 74.
The station announced the passing on social media and the air.
Known as the “Voice of Cleveland” and “Triv, “Mister Know-it-All” Trivisonno began his career at the station nearly 30 years ago, working his way onto the air as a regular caller to SportsLine with Pete Franklin.
WTAM spent several hours Thursday memorializing Trivisonno during his show, with program director Ray Davis filling in and fighting back the tears as he took calls from listeners.
As legendary as Trivisonno’s style became in Cleveland on the air, his best work came off it. His fundraising efforts for local charities like Coats for Kids were legendary, raising millions of dollars for the organization.
“All of us here at WTAM send our love and support to his family during this difficult time,” WTAM said. “We will bring you more details as we receive them, including information on memorials.”
Triv was preceded in death by his wife Linda, who died from cancer. He’s survived by his wife of ten years, Tami.
