It makes sense that plenty of people turn on sports radio in a community colloquially known as “Champa Bay.” WDAE’s afternoon show, Beckles & Recher are hoping to use the station’s impressive audience to do a little good.
The duo are throwing their support behind the Westchase Colts. The team has been invited to attend the Pop Warner National Tournament in Orlando and needs some help getting there.
Westchase is a suburb of Tampa. The commute to Orlando obviously isn’t a long one, but the team does have to cover bus and hotel expenses as well as food and participation fees. They have launched a GoFundMe page and set a goal to raise $12,500.
Ian Beckles and Jay Recher are spreading the word on social media and asking listeners to donate. They also got the team’s cause posted at the top of WDAE’s webpage on Tuesday.
The Pop Warner National Tournament runs from December 3rd through 10th. If you can, consider donating to the cause.
