A Canadian news outlet is suing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s security detail following a scuffle that erupted in Toronto this month.
Rebel News captured the incident on video and involved journalist David Menzies.
Menzies was standing on a public sidewalk when Trudeau’s motorcade pulled up to the event. An officer appears to tell Menzies to “get out of the road” before he “gets hit by a car.”
Seconds later, the officer is seen overwhelming Menzies, grabbing him by the arms and pushing him away from Trudeau. Several other officers then surround him, pushing him down the sidewalk and shoving his face into a wooden fence, restraining him.
According to Breitbart, the lawsuit also notes that Trudeau and his government have repeatedly barred Rebel News, a conservative outlet, from public events, despite Trudeau’s professed commitment to press freedom.
The lawsuit also suggests that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers in Trudeau’s security detail acted out of political motives and “a culture of aggression” against Rebel News.
