Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera plans to hang up his headphones after nearly four years at WTAM 1100. During Tuesday’s episode of his show, “Geraldo in Cleveland,” he announced that his final show would air on Friday, April 1.
WTAM noted a heightened travel schedule for the Fox News Network and additional projects as the explanations for the end of Rivera’s show, which has aired from 9-10 a.m. ET on weekdays on WTAM 1100 since September 2018.
Rivera added that all these commitments on his end were beginning to take a physical and psychological toll on him and that the duty of continuing to host a daily radio show had become too much.
“Geraldo Rivera is a once-in-a-generation broadcaster, storied journalist and tireless philanthropist. It shouldn’t come as any surprise that after his 50 plus years of broadcasting, the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning Rivera refuses to slow down,” WTAM wrote in a statement.
“We will always consider Geraldo to be a treasured member of the WTAM family and are honored to have had a front row seat to his storied career.”
Even though his show at WTAM is coming to an end, the Fox News host will continue to live in his adopted hometown of Shaker Heights, OH, with his wife Erica and daughter Sol.
