KTAR News in Phoenix Celebrates 100th Anniversary

KTAR News in Phoenix is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and this week the station is kicking off commemorations for reaching this historic milestone.

On Tuesday will commemorate the milestone by unveiling a timeline depicting significant events over the past 100 years. Furthermore, celebrations will culminate during KTAR Night at Chase Field along with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday with $9.23 tickets.

“As we reflect on a century of broadcasting for KTAR, we are honored to have such a tremendously talented team that continues to serve this community and innovate to keep our audiences connected and informed and deliver extraordinary results for our local business partners,” said Ryan Hatch, senior vice president/market manager for Bonneville Phoenix, which operates the station.

“While many voices have changed over the years, KTAR’s commitment to produce news that Arizonans can trust when it matters the most has never been stronger.”

This week, a legislative proclamation supported by state Rep. Teresa Martinez celebrating the station was read in the Arizona House of Representatives.

Also, Gov. Doug Ducey issued a statement acknowledging June 21, 2022, as “KTAR Day,” which recognizes KTAR’s importance to the state of Arizona.
