CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht continues to add to his new leadership team. The latest person to be named to a new position is Virginia Moseley has been named EVP of editorial.
Moseley will now be overseeing CNN’s day-to-day TV and digital newsgathering, and she will move from Washington to New York for this role. Moseley currently works as SVP of U.S. TV newsgathering, managing all of CNN’s breaking news coverage and newsgathering for CNN’s U.S. bureaus.
“Virginia Moseley will now serve as EVP of Editorial for CNN US, now including the Digital news team managed by Rachel Smolkin,” Licht said in a memo to staffers, per TV Newser.
“We are fortunate to continue to have Virginia’s extensive knowledge of newsgathering in an expanded role that will further unify our resources and coverage across platforms. Virginia will now be based in New York City.”
Furthermore, she also manages all coverage plans for the cable news channel’s White House, Congressional, Justice Department, Defense, National Security reporting teams, and more.
In November, Moseley will mark a decade with the company and is part of the latest round of promotions to executive positions.
