Fox News host Tucker Carlson railed against the National Basketball Association (NBA) for what he said was a double standard approach to its partnership with China and allowing players to make political statements.
“Normally, the NBA encourages political messages,” Carlson said Wednesday. “They even wrote BLM on the court but criticizing China is absolutely unacceptable to the sleaze balls who run the NBA.”
Carlson said his show obtained exclusive recordings from Ron Klempner, an attorney for the NBA Players Association, saying that the league wanted to stay in the good graces of China.
According to Fox News, another recording of Milwaukee Bucks owner Marc Lasry explaining how China won’t do business with the league if athletes criticize their government, saying at one point, “it’s business.”
“China’s taken a very aggressive stance, which is ‘if you want to b—h about us, you’re out – which I get it; it’s business,” he said.
Carlson accused the NBA of partnering with a country “trying to sell us out and displace us.”
