Audacy’s KJCE-AM in Austin understands how significant football is in Texas and is set to partner and become the home of the Westlake High School football program (h/t Radio Online).
Talk Radio 1370 will co-produce a pregame show before every Chaparrals football game this season and serves as the team’s flagship station, broadcasting play-by-play coverage.
“We’re excited to embark on this partnership with the Chaps and help bring the action home for Westlake Nation,” Audacy Austin Senior Vice President and Market Manager Bob Mackay said.
“This partnership aligns well with our expanded coverage of high school and college football each week.”
Joe Taylor, executive producer of the program and voice of the Chaparrals, and Talk Radio 1370 Assistant Brand Manager Kasey Johns, “ATX Kickoff,” will serve as the pregame show host to get fans ready for kick-off each week on the station.
“Westlake Nation and Number 9 Productions are thrilled to partner with Audacy for the 2022 Westlake Football season,” Taylor said. “Some of the most popular radio stations in Austin’s storied broadcast history call Audacy home, and we’re excited to join forces and deliver more championship-level coverage of Westlake Football. Let’s go make history.”
Additionally, the coverage of Chaparrals football on Talk Radio 1370 will include Texas A&M play-by-play voice Andrew Monaco, University of Texas color analyst Roger Wallace, and Austin American-Statesman community sports editor Thomas Jones.
