Syndicated radio hosts Clay Travis and Buck Sexton accused CNN Monday of publishing “congratulatory headlines” while covering a story involving illegal immigration.
Sexton shared his thoughts about the network’s coverage of migrants being flown into Martha’s Vineyard.
“I’m reading the headline,” said Sexton. “They enriched us. Migrants’ 44-hour visit leaves an indelible mark on Martha’s Vineyard. They (democrats) panic, they get them out as soon as possible, and then CNN starts writing self-congratulatory headlines.”
Travis recently stated that the network is striving towards normalcy under new president Chris Licht after the CNN boss moved on from “Reliable Sources” host Brian Stelter.
“Brian Stelter was a perfect approximation of the pathetic collapse of CNN,” Travis said in August. “I gotta be honest with you — there did not seem to be a particular direction of CNN’s coverage.
“Well, in a broader sense, Clay, this is not a surprise because CNN turned itself into an anti-Trump organ. There was no other purpose. It seems like Chris Licht, I believe, is his name, right, the new leader of CNN — is attempting to return CNN to some semblance of normalcy.”
It will be interesting to see if the two view the latest incident from CNN as a possible return to normalcy or if the network swings one side of the aisle despite the changes.
