There’s some shuffling occurring at iHeartMedia News/Talk 610 WIOD Miami as the radio station is debuting a new co-host in Manny Munoz.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 9, Munoz will be part of a new 10 am-12 pm show with his co-host, yet to be named. Munoz has spent the past fourteen years of his career as an Executive Producer, sports reporter and co-host of “South Florida’s First News with Jimmy Cefalo.”
“We are delighted to expand Manny’s presence on WIOD. Manny will now be leading his own show, Middays 10a-12n – bringing to South Florida, a fresh perspective from one of their own,” Shari Gonzalez, iHeartMedia Miami/Fort Lauderdale Market President, said (h/t Radio Insight).
“What a great fit for the evolution of WIOD. We are grateful to Brian Mudd for his four and a half years with us and are certain Brian will have continued success enlightening and entertaining the Palm Beaches.”
As Cefalo is retiring at the end of the year, Munoz will now move into the 10 am-12 pm slot, with current host Brian Mudd exiting the WIOD lineup after four and a half years, but will remain a figure at News/Talk 1290 WJNO West Palm Beach.
“Born in Hialeah, raised in Kendall and living in Southwest Broward for the last 27 years, I’m excited for the opportunity to have a show focused on the issues that affect South Floridians on a daily basis,” Munoz said.
“I can’t wait to meet my new partner so we can inform, entertain, and bring a smile to WIOD’s loyal listeners and invite new ears to join the show too.”
