Rep.-elect George Santos is in hot water over his embellishments and fabrications about his background. During an appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” fill-in host former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard tore into Santos.
“If I were one of those in New York’s 3rd District right now, now that the election is over, and I’m finding out all of these lies that you’ve told, not just one little lie or one little embellishment — these are blatant lies — my question is, do you have no shame?” Gabbard said (h/t The Hill).
“Do you have no shame? And the people who are now, you’re asking to trust you to go and be their voice for them, their families and their kids in Washington?”
Despite Gabbard grilling Santos, “The Young Turks” host Cenk Uygur gave the politician a snarky remark.
“I like how Tulsi Gabbard called out George Santos for being a grifter [on Tuesday] on Fox [News],” Uygur tweeted. “Game recognizes game.”
While Uygur is making a joke at Gabbard’s expense, he’s criticized the political press for not vetting and digging into Santos’ past leading up to the Midterm Elections in November.
“The fact that George Santos was not vetted by the press before he won his Congressional race speaks to the value of running as a ‘moderate Republican,’” Uygur tweeted. “You can get away with almost anything if the media thinks you’re going to help maintain the status quo.”
