A proposed new college football bowl game — the Cincinnati Chili Bowl — could see an interesting television home: the CW network.
According to a report from WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, the city’s sports commission is investigating the feasibility of a new bowl game that would be played at TQL Stadium, home of FC Cincinnati.
However, according to the report, the game would air exclusively on the CW Network. If the event were to come to fruition, it would be only the fourth bowl game not to air on an ESPN-related network. Currently, the Sun Bowl airs on CBS, the Holiday Bowl airs on FOX, and the Arizona Bowl airs on Barstool.TV.
The CW network was acquired by NexStar Media Group in August after months of speculation. The company –which purchased a 75% stake in the network — owns 37 CW affiliates across the nation.
No timetable was released on how long the feasibility study would take.
