CNN Announces Paula Reid Promotion, Tabs Camila DeChalus for Reporter Role

On Monday, CNN announced a couple of moves to key positions within the network. Paula Reid has been named Chief Legal Affairs Correspondent, and Camila DeChalus joins CNN Worldwide as a White House reporter.

Reid joined CNN in 2021 as a Senior Legal Affairs Correspondent, and during her time with the network, she’s been at the forefront of various high-profile news coverage, from Donald Trump to Hunter Biden.

The position that Reid takes over will be based out of Washington D.C. Meanwhile, DeChalus is a new face to the network, as she was previously a congressional reporter for The Washington Post.

“Thrilled to share that I’m returning to where it all began,” DeChalus wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “This network gave me my first shot at being [a] journalist when I graduated college, and now, I’m coming back to cover the WH during this critical time. It’s truly a full circle moment and an incredible honor.”

During her time with The Post, she covered various events, from the 2022 midterm elections to the Supreme Court’s handling of student loan debt. Before her time with the newspaper company, DeChalus worked at Business Insider, reporting on Congress, political campaigns, and legal affairs.
