As ESPN BET prepares to launch, the network has utilized already entrenched social media accounts to promote the sports betting service.
In a message posted to the former SportsNation social media accounts, users were presented with a message that says “Soon, this account will change from SportsNation to ESPN BET. We will still be fun and entertaining to enhance your fan experience, while promoting responsible gaming habits. We hope you stick around!”
The move is a wise one for the Worldwide Leader. On Instagram, the account formerly known as SportsNation features 2.4 million followers. That figure grows to 5.4 million on X, formerly Twitter. Finally, on Facebook, the SportsNation account featured 2.7 million followers before it was rebranded to ESPN BET.
ESPN BET is slated to debut on Tuesday in 17 states after a partnership between the sports media empire and PENN Entertainment was struck earlier this year. The two companies struck a 10-year deal valued at $1.5 billion. The joint partnership launches months after FOX Sports shuttered its betting service FOX Bet.
