Geraldo Rivera: Joining CNN ‘Would Be a Good Fit’

A couple of months have passed since Geraldo Rivera left Fox News. The former The Five co-host cited a “very toxic relationship with another of the cast members” for his departure.

Rivera has appeared recently on CNN, including a recent Sunday night sitdown with Jim Acosta. As a result, the Daily Beast asked whether this might be a trial run to see if he lands a gig with the network. Nonetheless, the former correspondent remains a free agent.

“No formal discussions,” Rivera told the Daily Beast’s weekly newsletter Confider via text. “I think it would be a good fit. Do you want to be my agent? Presently, I’m unrepresented. Maybe you could make my future employment a Daily Beast project? Thanks, Geraldo.”

According to the newsletter, CNN declined to comment on the matter. Still, a possible Rivera arrival on the network wouldn’t be too surprising, considering the outlet is now under new leadership.

Mark Thompson officially took over as CNN’s CEO in October, and it will only be a matter of time before he starts tweaking the network and molding it into his vision.
