Jimmy Hyams is teaming up with Knoxville sports reporter Paige Dauer for a new YouTube venture. Hyams, who retired from doing full-time radio at 99.1 The Sports Animal at the end of March last year, posted the news to his X account.
“I’m looking forward to a new venture in which I’ll interview compelling sports figures in [the] Knoxville area, he said” “We’ll post weekly or bi-weekly interviews on YouTube. Will launch this May 2. I’ll be working with Paige Dauer. Should be fun. Hope you’ll join us.”
Dauer, posted as well, saying, “CAREER UPDATE: I’m excited to announce that Jimmy and I are starting a podcast together! We’ll produce compelling interviews, game day analysis, and much, much more.”
Hyams announced his retirement from 99.1 The Sports Animal in January, 2023 and did his final show on March 31, thus ending the longest-running sports radio show in East Tennessee
Hyams moved to Knoxville in 1985 as a newspaper columnist after a long career in Louisiana. He shifted from the Knoxville News-Sentinel to radio in 1998.
