Chris Plante: Andrea Mitchell is ‘Lying on Behalf of the Democratic Party’

Date:

As per his press team’s statement, the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, will not appear on NBC News and MSNBC shows until a prominent reporter from the network apologizes for asking a question about his education policies. DeSantis’s press secretary, Bryan Griffin, stated on Twitter that the governor will only entertain proposals from NBC Universal or its affiliates once and if Andrea Mitchell corrects her false statement about the governor.

Last week, Mitchell asked Vice President Kamala Harris, “What knowledge is Governor Ron DeSantis lacking regarding Black history and the Black experience, given his assertion that Florida schoolchildren should not learn about slavery and its consequences?”

During his Friday show on WMAL Radio, host Chris Plante responded to Mitchell’s question by accusing her of “lying on behalf of the Democratic Party” despite her substantial salary.

“Honestly, they (Democrats) are insane. Slavery should not be taught in Florida schools,” said Plante. “We should teach that it’s your party, Andrea Mitchell. The Democrat party gave us Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederate States of America, who fought for slavery in the bloodiest war America’s ever had. Let’s teach the real history of the Democrat party.”

In a tweet, DeSantis’ office stated that the question posed by Mitchell was a clear example of the problems with corporate media. A spokesperson said he believes Mitchell’s incompetence was not accidental but a deliberate attempt to mislead people. He added that DeSantis did not make the statement in question and that Florida has strict requirements related to black history.

“No other fraudulent fake news organization tells the truth anymore,” Plante added.
