The interview between CNN host Michael Smerconish and Dr. Anthony Fauci continues to draw reactions from conservative media circles. Buck Sexton gave a backhanded compliment to Smerconish last week.
During The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, Sexton appreciated Smerconish’s line of questioning to Fauci, but continued to take a shot at the network.
“Over on CNN, Michael Smerconish has a show on Saturdays I think it’s like a one-day-a-week show. And he is the I think the least communist of the host over there,” said Sexton. “I think he’s the least communist. Now, that doesn’t mean a whole lot.”
After playing the clip of Smerconish asking Fauci about a study that showed masks were ineffective in combatting the spread of COVID-19, Travis agreed that Smerconish deserved credit for his line of questioning.
“I give credit to Michael Smerconish because I think it is important — if you want journalists to actually hold people in positions of power accountable — this is what should happen.”
