Dave Russell, who recently departed from Cumulus Media’s AC 103.3 WARM-FM in York, PA, after company layoffs, has been appointed afternoon host at Treese Media Group News/Talk 830 WEEU in Reading, PA.
He replaces “The Dave Ramsey Show.”
Russell said, “A huge thanks to John and Kristine Treese for bringing me on for this opportunity. I’m moving away from music radio for this time in my career. There are some exciting things planned for the station in 2025. And looking forward to getting immersed in the Berks community. Local radio ownership is where it’s at.”
Russell was with WARM-FM from 2015 until his departure in early November. This marked his third tenure at the station. He began his broadcasting career at 910 WSBA, where he spent eleven years from 1988 to 1999, ultimately advancing to the roles of Assistant Program Director and Promotions Director. After that, he worked at WEZQ in Bangor, Maine, and subsequently at WCTO and WLEV in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In 2007, he returned to WARM-FM as Program Director while also serving as both the afternoon host and morning co-host.
After a budget reduction in 2009, he spent the subsequent two years serving as a fill-in host for various Cumulus clusters in Pennsylvania. In 2011, he joined Forever Media to program Oldies station “The Pickle” WPKL/WKPL in suburban Pittsburgh, a role he maintained until his return to WARM-FM in 2015.
