Dickie V will return to the booth for the first time in over two years when he calls ESPN’s upcoming matchup between the Duke Blue Devils and the Clemson Tigers. ESPN announced the news via its X account earlier today.
Vitale has spent the better part of two years recovering from complications due to vocal cord cancer. In January, he and his doctor announced that the cancer was gone from the former coach’s body and that he could resume calling games as soon as ESPN gave the okay. After a fall at home slightly delayed Vitale’s return, it’s gametime for Vitale once more.
Vitale will join Dave O’Brien and Cory Alexander on the call. The game tips off this Saturday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.
