Marie Donoghue to Exit DraftKings: Report

Donoghue has reportedly agreed to work at the company until April 1.

Date:

After just over a year working with the company as its chief business and growth officer, Marie Donoghue is reportedly exiting DraftKings and will be working until April 1. Donoghue, who helped develop content in previous ventures as an executive at ESPN and Amazon’s Prime Video, is said to be looking to move back to New York and work in the sports media business again. The move by Donoghue to leave the company, which was first reported by John Ourand of Puck on Thursday night, takes place as a slew of other changes take effect within its owned network.

Donoghue most recently worked at Prime Video where she helped establish Thursday Night Football on the streaming service and a variety of other sports programming. Prior to that time, she was the executive vice president of global business and content strategy at ESPN, a role in which she was involved in business development, ESPN Films and developing several digital properties. Donoghue is a graduate of Columbia University and holds a degree in economics, along with later attaining her Juris Doctor.

Mike Golic and Mike Golic Jr. have departed the DraftKings Network as their GoJo and Golic weekday television program has come to an end. Barrett Media later reported that host Jessie Coffield was leaving the company as well, in addition to the cancellation of Pregame PowerUp and subsequent departures of Trey Wingo and Claudia Bellofatto. DraftKings Network is said to be pivoting from in-house produced shows, although it reportedly still has interest in engaging within content agreements.

Dan Le Batard revealed earlier in the month that the agreement with DraftKings for his show was nearing expiration. The company has a partnership with Meadowlark Media, and it is reportedly still negotiating a renewal with the brand. DraftKings also presents content from All the Smoke Productions, including the flagship All the Smoke podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.
