CNN has announced the addition of Choire Sicha as its new Senior Vice President of Features Editorial, overseeing the features department for the network.
In his new role, Sicha will lead the division and will be tasked with building the content strategy for the network’s global audience. He’ll lead the writers and editors for the network’s travel, style, wellness, and culture verticals.
Sicha joins the television network after previously working at Vox Media, serving as the Editor at Large for New York Magazine. He previously worked at The New York Times, as well as The New York Observer and Gawker Media.
The addition of Sicha comes as the network continues to beef up its digital endeavors under the tutelage of CEO Mark Thompson. CNN is utilizing a similar approach of The New York Times and many other news outlets feature. New CNN CEO Mark Thompson previously worked at that news organization before joining the cable network.
Choire Sicha will begin his duties at CNN on Monday, May 19th. He will be based in the network’s New York bureau.
