Country Twenty-Four Carrot Country 96.9 WXBQ Bristol, VA, morning co-host Ben Walker has left the station. Walker has experienced health issues over the past few years and wants to be closer to his family in Alabama.
According to reporting by Country Aircheck, Steve Stroud and Program Director Nikki Thomas will continue to host the morning show.
Stroud experienced a health-related issue on air in April 2023. At the time it was posted on Facebook, Walker “went down to the floor” after saying things that didn’t make sense.
Aside from Bristol/Johnson City, Walker has career stops in New Orleans, San Antonio, Houston and Milwaukee.
