CNN has announced it is adding former NPR host Ari Shapiro as a contributor. He’ll also host a new video podcast with former colleague Audie Cornish.
Shapiro hosted All Things Considered for NPR a decade before departing the organization last year. In total, he spent 25 years at the public radio outlet.
With his new role at CNN, he’ll host the video podcast Engagement Party with longtime friend Audie Cornish. Cornish is currently the host of CNN’s morning program. The show will be centered around the culture and ideas they’re most engaging with for each episode.
The program will be made available on CNN’s streaming service, as well as all major video platforms.
Engagement Party will premiere on Friday, May 22nd.
Ari Shapiro will also contribute to the network’s on-air and digital programming as a new contributor to CNN. He has a wide array of media experiences from his time at NPR. During his tenure, he served as a London-based foreign correspondent, a Justice correspondent during the Bush administration, and as a White House correspondent during the Obama administration.
