WJR 760 Launches ‘Founding Fathers Friday’ Ahead of America 250 Celebration

"As we approach the 250, we thought it'd be a good idea to go back and revisit and learn about the people that set this whole thing up."

Date:

The America 250 celebration is fast approaching. WJR 760 began one of its programming events on Friday in advance of that celebration.

What We Know: JR Morning, the morning show on WJR 760, launched “Founding Fathers Friday” this morning. The feature will include conversations with historians and focus on an individual founding father. Friday’s feature was focused on George Washington. The morning show spoke with Dr. Lindsey Chervinsky, the Director of the George Washington Presidential Library.

What They Said: “You guys know I’m a history nerd. I absolutely love it. And as we approach the 250, we thought it’d be a good idea to go back and revisit and learn about the people that set this whole thing up. Our founding fathers created this blueprint that became this grand American experience. This thing that had never been done in the world.” -WJR 760 morning host Chris Renwick

What Remains Unclear: How long the feature will last. It is also unclear if the feature will continue past the July 4th celebration that is approaching.

What It Means: America 250 is a, literally, once-in-a-lifetime programming and sales opportunity. It’s good to see a station in the news/talk format accept and understand that importance.
