What They Said: Marion Crowder: “I’m incredibly honored to join the SEC Nation team. This conference has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a family where Saturdays revolved around SEC football and I was fortunate enough to experience the conference firsthand as a student-athlete. Those experiences have given me an appreciation for just how much this conference means – not only to the athletes, but to the fans, families and communities that make SEC football unlike anything else.”

Meg Aronowitz, senior vice president of production, ESPN: “Marion’s extensive knowledge of the conference, firsthand experience as a former SEC student-athlete and her infectious energy is going to resonate with fans across the league. We cannot wait for her to get going and make an immediate impact this fall.”

What Remains Unclear: So far, ESPN hasn’t released the show’s site locations for this fall. Specific matchups and the travel schedule also remain unannounced. It’s also unclear how Crowder’s soccer analyst duties will fit around her new SEC Nation role.

What It Means: Ultimately, Crowder adds another player’s perspective to the SEC Nation crew. Her Georgia background and conference ties should resonate with fans across the league. Overall, ESPN is betting her energy and approach will elevate a show already loaded with familiar names.
