K95.3 Hands Mornings to Carletta Blake, Drops Bobby Bones

"We're bringing local mornings back to Central Virginia!"

Date:

Local mornings are back in Richmond. SummitMedia Country K95.3 WKHK debuted Carletta Blake in mornings today.

What We Know: Blake, the station’s Brand Manager, has handled afternoons since joining K95.3 in October 2025. Now, “Carletta in the Morning” replaces Premiere Networks’ “The Bobby Bones Show,” which aired on the station for eight years. Meanwhile, Q103.1 WQNU Louisville morning host Brent “Dingo” Crank picks up K95.3 afternoons. He’ll also continue afternoons on 104.7 WZZK Birmingham and WCYQ Knoxville.

What They Said: Blake shared the news in a Facebook video, calling morning radio her lifelong dream. She admitted her goals shifted over time, yet mornings became reality in 2020. “I didn’t think it would probably ever happen again, but as the saying goes, God knew better,” Blake said. Now, she added, “we’re bringing local mornings back to Central Virginia!”

What Remains Unclear: However, SummitMedia hasn’t announced whether anyone will join Blake on the new morning show. Additionally, the company hasn’t said if “The Bobby Bones Show” will find another Richmond home. Likewise, it’s unknown how much local Central Virginia content Crank’s afternoon shift will carry.

What It Means: Ultimately, K95.3 is trading a national show for a local voice in its most important daypart. That’s a notable bet while many stations lean harder on syndication. Furthermore, Blake brings morning experience from 99.5 WGAR Cleveland, plus programming stints at B93.9 WNCB Raleigh and 95.1 WRNS Kinston. As a result, Richmond listeners wake up with a host who lives in their community.
